About Me

My name is Asya Tosun.

I graduated from Trakya University in Turkey. I have a bachelor's degree in German Language Teaching. During this program, I had the opportunity to write an academic article with one of my teachers on the topic of "Women's Gender Acquisitions and Village Institutes". This experience sparked my interest in academic research and writing. In my fourth year of bachelor's, I did my internship at two different public high schools.

After my graduation, I worked as an English teacher in a kindergarten and primary school. In primary school, I was a "Fitzroy" teacher, which is a sound-based method. I don't think my pronunciation in English is very good, but I was teaching basic sounds that anyone could pronounce, that's why it wasn't a major problem for me. After working as an English teacher for a year, I worked as a German teacher in secondary school to decide which language I want to teach the most. During that time, I worked at a language school, teaching German to adult groups. Then I realized I enjoyed both, but I wanted to improve myself in the field of ELT. I kept giving private lessons in English and German to all age groups for 2 years. I use technological tools in my lessons most of the time.

I quit my job to start my master's degree at the University of Warsaw.
